Before this course, I had zero amount of experience in html, coding, or anything web-building related. I have happily been esconsed as a web user until October; then I became a web maker. I'm not great, but I have come leaps and bounds. Never had I attempted to purchase a domain, or fumble my way through trying to create a webpage- much less from scratch. These tasks, including creating this e-portfolio, were by far the most challenging for my skill set. It was a trial by fire, for sure. I'm happy that I have expanded my skills outside of my comfort zone, but I still have a long way to go. However, I can happily say that thanks to the great tutorials provided by Dr. L, and my ability to follow directions, I was able to successfully create a ten question quiz, and then use dynamic htlm and CSS to create a drag and drop assessment. You can be the judge of my success. :)
In regards to creating this e-portfolio, I first used KompoZer, which lended itself easily to my needs for the drag and drop assessment. During the template building stage, I was able to make changes and start learning my way around building a web page. It was slow going, and I had alot of difficulty with the assignment. This difficulty continued through creating this final project. After multiple attempts (I'm talking over 10), I finally gave up on using KompoZer and gave Brackets another try. I found it much easier to use than the first time around, and successfully created the site you are now on. I found the navigation much easier and really liked the color coding, especially when the program flagged an error that I would inevitably include. Brackets for the win!
